Jodi was an invaluable resource and guide to our Chaffee County house purchase and remains so many months later! If anyone reading this review is wondering whether they need a local real estate expert representing their interests and facilitating the sale or purchase of their house or property in the Chaffee and Lake County Colorado areas, I will give you my thoughts after recently going through the process as an out-of-the-area buyer trying to find and close on the right mountain house. While online services (e.g. Zillow) allow you to see and research online properties available in the Salida, Buena Vista, Poncha Springs, Nathrop and Leadville areas, there are tremendous gaps in knowledge that only a true local expert can help you understand. Jodi is that true expert and we found her to be a highly ethical advocate and representative for our transaction. Jodi represented our interests as buyers and earned her commission many times over. An example – she knew we wanted a quiet place; while touring a house that we liked, Jodi made sure that we were aware that just over a hill partially obscuring it was a major thoroughfare. She pointed out that while you don’t hear much traffic now, it would likely be different during seasonal traffic and certain times. We went back to the area later and heard very loud motorcycles streaming nearby, which meant that place just did not meet the important criteria we set. Jodi looked out for us at all times and pointed out things she noticed about the properties we saw - good, bad and indifferent that we would have missed. We felt like she had our back during price/condition negotiations on the house we selected, as Jodi stuck to her guns and represented our interests. Once an offer was in place and accepted, Jodi and her team helped us locate and engage with appropriate inspection groups. Without this assistance we would never have met timelines required by the contract. Buying a house in the mountains is different than buying in a metro area. Jodi and her team’s knowledge of local providers, and her assistance in getting the ones we selected to schedule their inspection dates in a timely manner allowed us to meet tight deadlines. This may sound like a small thing, but the buying/selling season is shorter in the mountains, service providers get booked, and you still have a timeline to meet. We needed Jodi’s help and she delivered. Jodi and her team worked very hard behind the scenes and were always communicating status, and responsive to my calls and emails. They were always a joy to work with – pleasant and straight shooting. Jodi sat with us at the closing table and made sure we understood every document placed before us to sign. Again, this sounds like a small thing, but it is a comfort if buying or selling a house is not something you do regularly. I would without hesitation again engage Jodi to assist with buying a house or property, regardless of whether her compensation was a shared seller commission or a direct closing cost to me. I would also not hesitate to hire Jodi to sell our house if we had one to sell. You need a great real estate expert to guide you and look after your interests in what is a very important transaction. I wanted to write this review because Jodi really went above and beyond in the sale of our home. For example, when our long term rental tenants moved out, they left our home dirty and in ill repair, not ideal to market for selling. Incredibly, Jodi actually spent several hours of her time scrubbing the bathtub to remove unsightly stains saving us $1800 for a new tub! She also organized a complete remodel, using her contractors (who were amazing and offered us terrific prices.) She ran the entire remodel project for us at no cost! She organized cleaners and trade professionals. She lightly staged the home on her own as well. She marketed our property with beautiful photos and VIDEO to her numerous networks as well as various social media platforms! She didn’t stop at just putting our home on the MLS! I rarely write reviews but I've had such positive experiences working with Jodi I felt that I needed to take the time to share. Jodi has represented me on two transactions. The first was as my agent selling my long time residence in Arcadia. Since it was unclear whether the home would sell to more of a traditional buyer looking for a family home they could remodel or a builder looking to do something more extensive Jodi marketed it to both groups which is double the effort.
